It s important to note that working toward the inside corner means the last shingle in the row will likely need a precision size width cut as well as a scribe cut.

With corner boards there is the choice of applying them next to the siding or over top of the siding as shown here.
It can also be butted against adjoining walls with a trim strip used to cover the joint.
2 1 4 x 2 1 4 or 3 x 3 square inside corner.
As in the above illustration at inside corners siding is frequently butted against a 2 x 2 trim strip.

This saves time because i can use whatever random sized shingle i want to start with.
Use a square length of 5 4 stock at inside corners with a spline underneath.
For inside corners i like to start at the corner itself and work the row outward from there.
Use a felt paper spline wrapped around the corner and extending 6 inches beyond the corner board to protect the joints where the siding meets the corner boards see figure 1 5 at left.
